# Public tools (https://docs.oren.finance/docs/tools)

Oren's MCP server supports the following tools. Availability depends on your connection's approved permissions and enabled server features.

## Tool list [#tool-list]

1. [`get_portfolio`](/docs/mcp/tools#get_portfolio) — read the approved wallet's portfolio.
2. [`search_stocks`](/docs/mcp/tools#search_stocks) — find tokenized stocks by ticker or company name.
3. [`get_stock`](/docs/mcp/tools#get_stock) — get canonical stock details by asset ID.
4. [`prepare_trade`](/docs/mcp/tools#prepare_trade) — quote and prepare a stock buy or sell.
5. [`prepare_buy`](/docs/mcp/tools#prepare_buy) — compatibility path that saves a buy request for browser review.
6. [`review_trade`](/docs/mcp/tools#review_trade) — get the browser approval link for a prepared intent.
7. [`execute_buy`](/docs/mcp/tools#execute_buy) — compatibility alias for browser review; it does not execute a transaction.
8. [`trade_status`](/docs/mcp/tools#trade_status) — inspect an intent's approval or execution state.
9. [`execute_trade`](/docs/mcp/tools#execute_trade) — request restricted delegated execution under an active bounded grant.

Read-only connections normally expose three tools. A connection with read and prepare scopes, without execute scope, exposes eight. With read, prepare and execute scopes, the compatibility tools disappear; `execute_trade` additionally requires the signing gate. Do not assume all nine names appear in a single connection.

## Reference [#reference]

See the [MCP tool reference](/docs/mcp/tools) for each tool's inputs, results and authorization requirements. Start with the [quickstart](/docs/mcp/quickstart) to connect your client.
